Hello everyone!

My name is Alyssa and I am creating a GoFundMe account to help assist my mother during her battle with stage 4 lung cancer. On June 27th, my mom was at work like any other normal day when she started to lose feeling in her hand. She clocked out and checked into the emergency department to be evaluated. They quickly coded her for a stroke, but after multiple scans, they realized that she has cancer. Upwards of 20 lesions on her brain. Cancer in her bones, including her collarbone, femur, and spine. A biopsy of a mass on her lung revealed that it was, in fact, lung cancer. She has blood clots in her lungs and in both legs. She just finished 10 rounds of continuous radiation therapy to her brain and will start chemotherapy to assist in other parts of her body.

Within one day, her life was flipped upside down, and what she knew as her daily routine was quickly torn away. She is trying to adapt to this new journey, but it hasn’t been easy. She had no choice but to quit her job. She did not have health insurance when this happened but has recently been accepted to receive Medicaid. Within a month and a half, I have witnessed her progression of this illness trying to take over. The pain she experiences daily has made it difficult to walk without a walker. But you know what this cancer doesn’t know? She is a fighter, and she doesn’t go down without a fight. My mother is a warrior!

This will help take some stress off of her while she fights the good fight and not having to worry about other bills during this time. Disability is in process, but they said it will take 5 months before she will get anything. We don’t even know where things will be in five months. Please keep her in your prayers and thoughts.
