Support Alyssa's Journey to Safety and Independence

Hi. I’m Vanessa. My daughter Alyssa is a beautiful and bright 21-year-old who lives with Autism and Epilepsy. As Alyssa has gotten older, her Epilepsy has become more aggressive. Due to the strength and how quickly her seizures come, Alyssa is almost never able to notify someone of an oncoming seizure. This has posed some serious and life-threatening issues for her. Falling, suffocation, and loss of consciousness have occurred. After speaking with doctors and upon their recommendation, we have decided to begin the process of getting Alyssa a medically trained seizure dog. Having the dog will allow Alyssa to do simple things like go for a walk, go to the bathroom, or even take a shower without the fear of her being alone in the event of a seizure occurring. Unfortunately, costs for a medically trained seizure dog are quite high. Alyssa is not the best candidate for certain medical options. This is one option we know that can give her a safer and more secure environment. For those of you who know or have met Alyssa, you know that she is an amazing, beautiful, loving, and kind person. She has been battling so much her entire life and always does it with a smile. As her mom, I may not be able to take away her medical struggles. What I can do is advocate for her. We are hoping that any small monetary gift you can give to get us to our goal would be a blessing for us. We thank you so much for your support... God Bless
