Support Alyssa King's Educational Journey in Kenya

Hello! I am Alyssa King, a senior at Michigan State University. I am graduating this May entering the field of Education. PLEASE READ if you are interested in helping to support my 2 week mission trip to Njoro, Kenya for “Our Journey School”.

I am 21 years old, studying Elementary Education- with a TESOL endorsement that expands my degree to be certified in teaching english language learners. I have always had a passion to teach and shape the young minds that I am blessed to work with every day. I have recently been presented the opportunity to share what I have learned from MSU at a school in Njoro, Kenya. As I continue grow as an educator, this opportunity not only allows me to share my knowledge, but I also get to learn so much from this experience! As I am set to travel to Kenya this June, our mission encompasses multiple goals:

1. Our first goal is to help expand the curriculum and teaching development at a school called “Our Journey” in Njoro. My group will be training on differentiation/tiering and introduce IEP development. We will be training teachers at the school how to implement these strategies in whole group/centers in the classroom. As a new teacher I am very excited to step into my career with this trip.

2. Our second goal is to support the projects at Our Journey School in Njoro. We will also be working to supply for needy families of the students at Our Journey, and provide supplies for 12 sponsored students.

I am currently raising funds for this 2 week mission trip. All funds will be used toward supporting the projects at Our Journey School in Njoro, supplies for needy families of our students, supplies for 12 sponsored students, and for transportation/room & board for me while on the trip… If you are willing, please consider donating to help me reach my goal by June!
