Late Thursday evening, Alyssa Carey, Associate Director for the Mid-Atlantic Region (KHC US Sales), and her family left their home in Dunedin, FL when Hurricane Helene's path began to flood the area and break the seawall.
Fortunately Alyssa, her husband Michael, and two sons, Case & Cole are safe. When they returned the next morning, their town and home were devastated by severe flooding. They attempted to salvage a few sentimental items, but have lost all of their belongings with significant damage to their home, leaving it uninhabitable for an unknown amount of time.
Alyssa's positive outlook that life's beauty is found in experiences, not things, is evident now more than ever, and she has realized it will take time to get settled and reestablish their roots.
In the meantime, Alyssa and Michael are focused on finding temporary housing to create normalcy for their boys as they carry on with school, soccer, and friends.
Several folks have reached out asking how to help. Please consider donating to help Alyssa and Michael as they work through what their family needs most in the coming days, weeks, and months - from new backpacks for the kids, to short term/long term housing, to meals on the go.
THANK YOU!
