Introduction
My name is Lilly, and I am Alyssa’s aunt. I’m writing on her behalf to ask for support during this heartbreaking and uncertain time.
What Happened
Alyssa delivered her baby girl at only 22 weeks. The baby is fighting for her life in the NICU, suffering bleeding on both sides of her brain (grade 3 and grade 4), liver failure, and has already needed multiple blood transfusions. Test results are still coming in to help doctors understand more about her condition.
The doctors have asked the family to prepare for the worst, and Alyssa is torn between hope and heartbreak. She has just moved into the Ronald McDonald House in Lubbock to be closer to her baby, but she lives in La Mesa and has no working vehicle. Her partner has returned to work in La Mesa, leaving Alyssa without income or transportation while she faces the most difficult fight of her life.
Why We’re Asking for Help
We are setting a goal of $25,000 to help cover Alyssa’s immediate and ongoing needs. These funds will provide for her daily living, travel, loss of income, and emergency expenses during this long and difficult journey. If her baby survives, Alyssa will need support for a hospital stay of 6–9 months. If the unimaginable happens, funds will also cover funeral arrangements.
A Note from Our Hearts
This has been devastating for Alyssa. She is not only facing the possibility of losing her first baby but also the overwhelming reality of living day by day without stability, income, or reliable transportation.
Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign—will directly ease her burden, allowing her to focus on her baby and not on how she will eat, travel, or prepare for what comes next.
