Support Alyses Recovery and Road to Going Home

Donation protected

On August 12th our baby girls were born and while we knew they would spend some time in the NICU due to premature birth and their twin to twin transfusion syndrome in the womb, we never expected what would come for our baby girl alyse.
As a little backstory, on May 1st of this year (19 weeks into pregnancy) we were rushed out to Seattle Washington from boise idaho for me to have an emergency surgery that would be life saving for our twins. We were told that we had a condition called twin to twin transfusion syndrome and that there were 5 stages of it and we were on stage 3. We had to be rushed out there in order for me to have a laser ablation surgery to help fix it. By the time we were in Seattle we had reached stage 4. We were told before the surgery that our smaller baby Alyse, only had a 15% chance of surviving if it wasn't done soon. After the surgery we were told I probably wouldn't make it past 28 weeks of pregnancy and that it would be extremely risky for the twins since they weighed less than 2lb at the time. We were able to make it 34 weeks of pregnancy. Our baby hailey only had to be in the NICU for 45 days. However, they found 2 holes in Alyses heart that she was going to need to have surgery for. We had to wait almost 4 months for her to be almost 9lb for the surgery (she was born at 2lb). She was finally able to have her surgery for her heart but just like the last surgery we were sent out of state. Her surgery was done at stanford in california and she did have a successful surgery but she is still intubated and slightly sedated 2 days post-op because she is having a very hard time breathing as they try to stabilize her.
Our sweet baby alyse has never tasted the taste of breastmilk or been able to experience breastfeeding or any type of oral feed because of her heart condition setting her back. She is very far developmentally behind her sister and will have months of catching up to do by the time shes home. She has been in so much pain and discomfort for almost 4 months now that sometimes we are unable to hold our baby without it overstimulating her or making her throw up. We have been lacking the ability to fully bond with our baby. After an unestimated amount of time here in california, she will be able to return back to Boise's NICU where she will have to learn how to eat by mouth and breathe on her own without oxygen support before she can come home with us for good.

Being out of state right now is very hard because we have zero income but need to be with our baby. We are going to be hundreds of thousands dollars in debt after all of this. As of now, from only Alyse's NICU stay in Boise, we are over $50,000 deep in medical bills for just her alone.
We as her parents would like to partner with GoFundMe to raise funds to help us during these difficult times. All raised funds will go strictly towards Alyses medical expenses, and necessities for both babies as neither of us are able to work at this time. We will post updates here on Alyses hospital stay from here out until she goes home so you can follow along as well.
Our babygirl inspires us with the amount of strength and resilience her small body carries and we hope other NICU parents can be inspired by her story as well. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference for us and our baby. We are grateful everyone who chooses to follow along and donate to help our family during these challenging times. Thank you.❤️
