Alycia Mesa is not just a nurse at our hospital—she is like family to all of us at Tehachapi Valley Hospital. Alycia, her husband, and their family have always been selfless, serving God and our community with open hearts. Now, they are facing a challenge that no family should have to face alone. Alycia’s son, Noe, had a terrible accident on Thanksgiving night, suffering severe burns that required immediate care from our ER team and a transfer to Arrowhead Regional’s burn unit. After a few days in the hospital, Noe was discharged with a long road ahead: daily dressing changes, mobility exercises, and follow-up appointments to monitor his healing. At a recent follow-up, doctors determined that Noe may need surgical grafts on his right leg. The plan is to continue his care at home and return for reevaluation on Monday, 12/8. If his burns have not improved, he will be admitted for 10-14 days and undergo at least two procedures for grafting. This is a difficult and uncertain time for Alycia and her family. Alycia is taking time off work to be by Noe’s side as his personal nurse, which means added financial stress on top of the emotional toll. The funds raised here will help cover medical bills and any needs that arise as Noe recovers, allowing Alycia to focus on what matters most: her son’s healing. We know Alycia and her family are not ones to ask for help, but they are deeply loved by our hospital family and community. Please consider supporting them in any way you can—through donations, sharing this fundraiser, or keeping Noe and Alycia in your prayers. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in their lives during this challenging time.
