In 2023, Alvin was diagnosed with a genetic marker called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.
The only way to get better was to have a liver transplant. In May 2024, Alvin received the needed transplant and it was a success. However, he needed another transplant after some complications and in September we found out another transplant would not be possible. Alvin is now on hospital Hospice and will pass away soon.
It has been a roller coaster of a ride and through it all Alvin, Karrie, Leesa, and Karrin have been a pillar of kindness and strength. Their hearts are enormous, their spirits are resilient, and their dedication to one another is unwavering.
They are a beautiful, kind family who deserves every bit of support we can offer. Showing them they are never alone and surrounded by the incredible community they have always believed in.
