Almost there! Support my move back home (Michigan).

My name is Althea Jackson and I am Allen’s Mom.
I moved to Dallas, Texas on August 11, 2014. It was the day after what would have been Allen’s 31st birthday. I was broken, unemployed, recently divorced and grieving the loss of my son.
Today is November 24, 2024. I have lived at 10 addresses since moving here in 2014.
When I arrived, my credit score was in the high 700s. I wish I could say it’s unchanged. Unfortunately, I have changed and so has my financial situation, neither was for the better.
I have been diagnosed with multiple mental health conditions that challenge me everyday. I am exhausted from trying to survive and have decided it would be in my best interest to go back home to Michigan.
I had never experienced eviction or having a vehicle (that I already owned be repossessed) until I came to Texas.
And for the first time in my life I would be homeless, if not for my family.
This journey through the shadow of death (as I call it), has been the most difficult thing in my life since losing my.
Along the way I made decisions along that caused me to suffer a financial loss. This, unfortunately is how the brain is impacted by trauma.
I’ll be coming out of retirement on December 2, 2024. Meanwhile, I’m working on my nonprofit organization in memory of Allen. You can visit the website at the URL below.
www.the survivorshealingproject.org I am also the creator of a free after school program called
Drawing and Writing MY way Trough Trauma. It is one of the first Trauma-Informed Literacy program. It operates from funding given through grants and donations from people like you.
