Support Al's Journey to Recovery

Thank you for taking the time to hear Al’s story. For those of you who may not know Al, he just turned 26, he’s a man of God, a son, a brother, lover of pizza and sweets, and a fiancé. He loves to watch sports-especially basketball and boxing. On October 22, 2024, we admitted him to the hospital for what we thought was sepsis from a reoccurring toothache he had been complaining of. We instead received news we never expected to hear- that Al had a tumor on his cerebellum and they had to treat him immediately. Had he waited any longer, he may not be here with us today. After multiple CT scans, full body MRI’s, a 12 hour surgery, a spinal cord stroke, and countless more medical testing, Al is going through recovery and we truly have God and countless thoughts and prayers from all who love him to thank for this. We aren’t out of the clear yet as we have a lengthy recovery to, Lord’s willing, get back feeling and movement in all extremities as they should be. Through all of this we are remaining in prayer and trusting in God.

We started this fund to help out during this time as having a spinal cord injury is very expensive- can cost 1-2 million in the life of someone with a spinal cord injury when the injury occurs around age 25 which is exactly when Al's occurred. With Al not able to return to work yet and me needing to give him round the clock care still, we are asking for any help we could get to stay on top of his recovery process and give him the most independent and full life we can. We thank God for all who have kept us and him in your thoughts and prayers. Every little bit helps as we navigate the next stages of his recovery as they occur.

Al has made AMAZING progress, but we still have so far to go. Arkansas is so limited on resources for those with spinal cord injuries and we have applied for countless grants to try and cover some of the things we are hoping to get for Al and more paralysis recovery therapy that unfortunately insurance doesn't cover that he so desperately needs.

Here are a few of the things we are raising money for. Every single penny is going towards helping us make this wish list all a reality:
~Firefly electric scooter wheelchair attachment - $3,300
~Recumbent Bike- $180
~Home exercise equipment (bands,weights,etc)- $250
~Medical Supplies for a year (gloves, lube, suppositories, wipes) - $400
~Two weeks at a paralysis recovery center- $7,500
~Extra therapies (hydrotherapy, paralysis recovery, gym membership, etc.)- $3,000
~Standing Frame- about $3,700
~Any extra funds go towards continued care and supplies for Al

Thank you so much for your continued love and support. If you can't donate, we appreciate you just the same. A prayer, share, or even a follow on our social media would be greatly appreciated.
