In Memory Of Al: Support For Their Loved Ones
Donation protected
Hello. This fundraiser is for Al & Pals (pronouns are he/they) (@jukeboxcowb0y on twitter/X).
Al’s mom, Mary, let me know that Al passed away peacefully in his sleep last Thursday, 8/22, at about 8:40 PM, surrounded by their family.
Here is what Al’s mom said:
“Al’s Journey: What started out as pancreatitis back in July ended up spiraling out of control over a very short period of 6 weeks. For anyone who didn’t know him, I need to tell you that he was a fighter, he was so brave and he never once complained through all of the poking and prodding and testing that he had to endure while in the hospital. Unfortunately, things kept getting worse, he knew that his body was breaking down and he was just so tired towards the end. He also knew that he had to get to hospice so that he could finally be comfortable and pain free. From the very minute he got there until the second he took his last breath, we were by his side. On the morning of 8/22 the nurse practitioner said he probably had 24-48 hours, but his body was just too weak and he passed that evening at 8:40 pm.
My mother always said that no one should ever have to bury their child. And although the time has come for me to do this most difficult task, I can rest knowing that he is now finally at peace. The outpouring of love and support mean the world to me and I’m eternally grateful that I had the privilege of being his mom even if it was for such a short time.”
With Al’s physical limitations, getting out and having friends locally was not possible for him. So his online community was everything to him and is what made his life so complete.
I feel so fortunate to have known Al in any capacity, and to have been continually moved by how kind, caring, tenacious, and witty they were. He truly knew what being in community with others was all about ♥️ & seemed to always be helping others. So I’m sure if you’re reading this, you feel the same way.
Please support this fundraiser in any way you are able to, so that Al’s family can rest as much as possible. Feel free to share any stories about them as well.
