Hello, I'm a low-income student from the Bay Area. I'm reaching out for help because I understand the heavy burden my parents carry. Alongside the expenses of my education, they juggle numerous financial obligations.

In 2020, my family and I decided to welcome a friend to the family. We adopted a 15-pound husky-shepherd mix, with a floppy ear, who we named Alpha. Alpha has brought immeasurable joy to my house. Two years ago, he tore his ACL, needing urgent surgery. Enduring a lengthy recovery (3 months) was very hard for him as he is very energetic. After consulting with the vet, we were told there was a probability that it would happen to his other leg in the future. In the past couple of months he had started to limp, at first, we thought nothing of it. Recently during his vet check, we found out his ACL was starting to tear and it was only a matter of time. We had the initial idea to postponing his operation, but his discomfort escalated and he completely tore his ACL. His last surgery cost about the same but we had a hard time paying it off, as we asked for a loan because it was very sudden. Because of his medical history with ACL injuries, insurance has offered no help with the payment.

I ask our community for assistance to pay for his surgery as soon as possible to make it possible for him to walk again. Your support, no matter how small, would be invaluable in ensuring Alpha’s well-being. I am forever grateful.
