Alonso Luna was born and raised in Chiapas, Mexico, and has spent his entire life working hard to give his family the life he always dreamed of. After meeting my mom, who already had two children, he became a devoted husband and father, always putting his family first. Alonso is the heart of our family—the one who brings us together, makes us smile no matter what, and encourages each of us to dream bigger than he ever could. He has always shielded us from financial struggles, working tirelessly to provide a stable and loving home. His faith and positivity have made him a role model to everyone who knows him.
Alonso fought for over 10 years to become a legal permanent resident in the United States. After a long fight to pursue his dream, not even a year later, he received a devastating diagnosis. What we thought was a hernia turned out to be stage 4 gastric cancer—adenocarcinoma with signet ring cells, a very rare and aggressive type of cancer. Alonso spent a week in the hospital, and the news has been devastating for all of us. Despite this, he remains incredibly strong, finding hope and determination even in the darkest moments. He is committed to fighting with everything he has, wanting nothing more than to stay with his family for as long as possible. His strength lifts us up, even when he is at his lowest.
Now, we are facing overwhelming medical expenses, daily costs, and the need to make our home more comfortable and accessible for Alonso’s journey ahead. Alonso was the main source of income for our family, and unfortunately, he can no longer work with his diagnosis. My mom is disabled and unable to work as well. We are struggling and need help to ensure he gets the care and support he deserves. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference and help us focus on what matters most—being together and supporting Alonso as he fights this battle. Thank you for your kindness and for standing with our family.
