Support Almost 70 Years of Lowell Little League Memories

Maybe it was the warmth of the sun during an afternoon game on a dusty field or the ring of the bat as you struck the ball or just the time that you spent with your family enjoying the ballpark atmosphere. Hot dogs, picking up little bags of trash for an ice cream, catching crayfish in the spring, children running from field to field, softball girls cheering on their batter in a ponytail helmet and pink jersey, boys playing a pickup game on an empty field, or the warmth and support from the adults watching you that day. For almost 70 years Lowell Little League has been a part of so many children growing up at its’ near east side neighborhood ballpark. It has hosted these sorts of family times, fun and excellence in baseball and softball state and regional champions and pure fun and excitement of tee ball games where there is no score just delight for the teams and families in the stands.

The ballpark has been the center of these memories since 1956. Every year, as a chartered member of Little League International, our players strive for the World Series in Williamsport. Lowell has been the host of countless all-star baseball and softball tournaments.

It is with these memories that our intrepid board comes to you to ask for financial help. We are in a rebuilding year with players just 3 to 8 years old. We hope by showing some of the possibilities of family time our players and families will choose Lowell year after year the way that we did, building strong independent players who form lasting friendships, learn the finesse of the game and return to leadership roles at Lowell the next generation.

This GO FUND ME will help support repairs and equipment at our aging facility. We need to upgrade some of our equipment for players, fences and mowers. As you can imagine, a 15 acre, 5-field ballpark has many needs. We offer a program for a modest amount keeping our families in mind even though the actual costs, per player, is $230 annually. The board and families cleverly and tirelessly fundraise to make up the difference. This is why we are asking you to participate in giving in whatever way you can.
