Support Almond's Healing Journey After ER Visit

Hi, my name is Andrew, and I’m reaching out to share what’s been a really difficult experience with my dog Almond — a 4-year-old miniature Australian Shepherd who means the world to me.
Early Saturday morning (June 29, 2025), Almond was rushed to the ER at 2:30am after we discovered he had eaten too many pork bones. It caused a dangerous blockage in his stomach, and we were faced with two options: hope that treatment and medication would work, or prepare for emergency surgery.
Unfortunately, Almond’s protein levels were too low to safely operate, so we had to wait and hope things improved. Sunday came with no change. But then on Monday — some good news. His treatment started working, and he was finally able to process food again. No surgery needed!
Almond is now home, resting and recovering, and we are so grateful he pulled through.
I want to give a huge shoutout to the Veterinary Emergency Group in Redmond, WA. They were incredible throughout all of this — compassionate, transparent, and they even allowed me to be with Almond 24/7 during his stay. Their care helped make an extremely stressful time more bearable.
That said, this emergency came out of nowhere — and the vet bill is a tough one to face. With how expensive everything has gotten lately, this unexpected cost has hit especially hard. If you're able to help, any amount means so much and would go directly toward covering Almond’s treatment.
Thank you so much for your support. Whether you donate, share, or send a kind message — we’re grateful.
