Last week, my wife, Ally, was t-boned by a reckless driver, severely damaging her car and leaving her with a concussion; two days before her birthday.

Completely frustrated by the accident and the inconvenience of losing a vehicle, we focused on the fact she was able to walk away from the accident otherwise fine. Recovery began immediately, and she saw some improvement in the days following.

Hopeful her symptoms were continuing to improve, something changed. After a few days of worry and frustration, on 1/14 Ally woke with blurred vision. We immediately went to doctors and they ordered an additional CT scan. That’s when we received the devastating news: they found a tumor (macroadenoma) on her pituitary gland that was also pressing on her optical nerves. The shock of the accident was hard enough, but this new diagnosis, was something we weren’t prepared for at all.

As she faces treatment and recovery, we’re now navigating through the reality that she’ll be out of work for the next 4-6 weeks. Between the car accident and this, life seems to be very overwhelming, and we’re doing everything we can to stay strong for each other. Every day is a new challenge, but we’re holding onto hope and the strength of our unwavering love for one another.

My wife has touched many people’s hearts in different ways, leaving heartfelt memories with everyone she meets.
