Support Allison's Urgent Stroke Recovery

Hi everyone, we are Odette and Nadine, Allison’s daughters, and we are starting this GoFundMe for our mom who really needs and deserves everyone’s help right now.

This past year, a week before Thanksgiving, our mom had a massive stroke. It took her ability to walk and speak. Just a few weeks after the initial stroke, she had severe complications that led to a tracheotomy and a feeding tube having to be put in after a lung collapsed and she developed a blood clot in her leg.

After a few weeks in the ER, we thought we were out of the woods and she was back to the long-term physical therapy stay. More complications arose for her third ER visit.

She currently has only 2 more days in the ER (as of March 17th), before returning to the PT stay, but since then, her Medicare is refusing to pay to keep her in the physical therapy facility she desperately needs to be in.

Without PT, she will not regain the ability to walk or talk.

Odette has no facilities in their apartment to give her the proper care she needs. The bills are starting to pile up, and as we try to fight Medicare to cover these hospital and physical therapy nursing home stays, Allison needs all the support she can get. She lives on SS and is on a very strict income.

As her daughters, we can only resort to the kindness of friends or even strangers.

Our mom has always been an intensely kind and giving person. She wouldn’t want us asking for help, but this isn’t her choice. She needs to be shown that there are people who deeply care to help her and get her back on her feet.
