Hi there.
My name is Allison Gray, or more commonly known online as allison8bit. Many people know me from the communities that I am a part of, predominantly various speedrun and indie game communities, as well as some groups of Magic the Gathering and Blood on the Clocktower. I have always had a focus on being a part of open, inclusive, and welcoming groups and doing all that I can to help the groups grow and thrive while supporting those values.
I am also an openly-queer transgender woman. I do what I can to support others in queer spaces and be visible to help those who need to see someone like themselves out there living life openly and proud. I have never been ashamed or hid any of this. I am who I am and I hope that myself and my experiences can help others in many ways.
All of that being said, I have been an out trans woman for a decade. I recently had the chance to get a gender-affirming bottom surgery scheduled for August 3rd of this year. This is something that I have been hoping for my entire life and frankly had given up on until recently. The entire reason I am even able to get the procedure itself is because I was able to have it covered by financial assistance, but there is still some need for money in this time. I will be away from work for 12 or so weeks and my return to work will likely feature a reduced number of hours for the remainder of the year.
Currently, the list of things that I need some assistance on while I am away from work and recovering:
Missing wages from my leave of absence and lessened hours following my return, likely through the remainder of 2026
Medically necessary expenses, related to dilation, pain management, and possibly other things
Assistance covering food, rent, and other bills
Possible miscellaneous expenses that I am not presently aware of
These are all just to make sure that I have the resources that I need to reduce stress and make sure I have everything I need to have a safe and swift recovery. Any excess, if anything, will be used for savings and getting back on my feet following my recovery.
If you can and are willing to donate anything, I would be greatly appreciative. The date of my procedure is coming up soon so getting some funds to have as much prepared before my operation will do a lot to help me prepare. I am hoping to share all that I can about my experience with those who are looking for information and guidance as they navigate the same or similar procedures for themselves.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of this! Any and all support means the absolute world to me
Allison <3
