Let me tell you about my friend Allison Roditi: she’s a devoted mother, exceptionally hardworking healthcare executive, dedicated volunteer, and vibrant athlete. She is smart and funny, competitive and thoughtful. This past July, Allison joyfully celebrated two years cancer-free, a hard fought victory following her diagnosis of stage 2 triple positive breast cancer in November 2023. In August, part of celebrating this victory was Allison training for a half marathon by proudly running her first race since her diagnosis. Following the race Allison had a sudden pain in her hip and her world was shattered upon learning that the pain was not a fracture as she had hoped, but that her breast cancer had returned and spread to her spine, vertebrae, pelvis, ribs, other bones, bone marrow, lymph nodes, and liver. Just six days after sending her older son Connor to college, Allison had to call him with the heartbreaking news that the cancer was back. Allison started chemotherapy on Friday and will be going for infusions every three weeks. Her tumor markers are now triple negative (which is rare and very aggressive) and there may be more added to her treatment regimen as more information becomes available.

Allison is now in a desperate fight for her life. Despite her proud and resilient spirit, Allison needs our help. As a single mother, Allison is caring for her younger son Ryan (a high school junior) and her beloved pets, Macy and Dakota (the dogs) and Caramel (the bunny), all while working full time at a demanding job and managing endless doctor’s appointments and treatment planning. To help her fight and provide for her family, Allison needs financial assistance to help with the many chores she is no longer able to do, including grocery shopping, dog walking, house cleaning, yard maintenance, transportation (including for Ryan), and meals. Our contributions will allow Allison to focus on what truly matters now —cherishing every moment with her family and fighting with all her might to conquer cancer a second time.
