Many people know and love my sister, Allison Martinez. She has been cutting hair in the Katy community for the last 30 years. Her clients know that nobody can cut their hair as perfect as Allison does it.
Allison really needs help right now. She recently found out she has cancer and it is stage 4 so her life is on the line. Only aged 49, this has been a devastating blow for many reasons. Allison's first and only worry is not about herself---it's been about her daughter and granddaughter. You see, Allison is the sole breadwinner of the family. Her adult daughter has a permanent physical disability from birth (arthrogryposis multiplex congenita) and depends on Allison because the disability benefit is not enough. Allison has been working tirelessly cutting hair for decades to provide and save up enough money to ensure her disabled daughter, and now her 10 year old granddaughter, are going to be ok financially.
But now she may really struggle to keep working as hard as she used to. The long hours at the barber shop on her feet are going to get harder and harder and she needs to save her energy to fight the cancer. She already has substantial medical bills from the surgery and diagnostic stages of this cancer journey and there are only more to come.
Thank you so much for considering giving to Allison. The funds will be used to pay medical bills and to pay for regular living expenses for herself and her disabled daughter while Allison is not able to put in as many hours at the V's Barbershop. She's going to try to keep fighting and I'm sure you'll see her at the barbershop trying to cut all of Katy's hair because she's stubborn like that. Thank you for helping her not have to worry as much about what will happen to her daughter and granddaughter if she's can't keep up.
