Her Story
If you know Allisha Donahue, you know her life has always been defined by hard work, strength, and community. For years, she has balanced multiple jobs—bartending at local restaurants while never stepping away from her true passion as a salon stylist.
Many of us know her as the friend who mixes a perfect cocktail behind the bar or the stylist who helps you feel your best in her chair. No matter where you met her, Allisha has always been someone who pours love and energy into others.
The Health Challenge
Behind the scenes, Allisha has battled severe scoliosis since childhood. In recent years, her condition has worsened dramatically:
- Her spine now curves at a 56-degree angle
- She experiences chronic back pain and leg numbness
- Everyday tasks like lifting, working doubles, or keeping up with her active life have become nearly impossible
- Doctors have told her that spinal fusion surgery is her only option to prevent further decline.
The Surgery & Recovery
This is no minor procedure. Surgeons will:
- Make a large incision
- Reconstruct her spine using rods, screws, and protein grafts.
- Begin the long process of realignment.
Recovery will include:
- 5–7 days in the hospital
- Extensive physical therapy
- Several months of healing before she can safely return to work
Why She Needs Our Help
For someone as hardworking and vibrant as Allisha, the hardest part isn’t just the pain—it’s being forced to step away from the jobs and people she loves.
This surgery is the only way forward if she wants to get back to being herself again:
- Behind the bar
- Behind the chair at the salon
- Present and pain-free with her son, John James, who is her world
Allisha faces lost wages, medical bills, and childcare costs during her recovery.
How You Can Support
Your donation will directly help Allisha cover:
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Childcare support for John James
- Household bills while she is unable to work
Every contribution—big or small—makes a difference in helping her focus on healing instead of financial stress.
