I am reaching out with a heavy heart and hopeful spirits to ask for your help. My beloved 4-year-old granddaughter, Allie, has been diagnosed with kidney inflammation (nephritis). She began having kidney related issues 8 weeks ago. Last Friday, she had a kidney biopsy where 47 of the kidney’s filters were taken for biopsy. 17% of all of her kidney filters are inflamed. Her parents will have to drive her weekly an 1 1/2hr each way for an unknown amount of time to have IV steroids given to her in the hopes of bringing the inflammation down enough to put her on a long term medication to improve her kidney function. Once they reach that point, they will find out the next steps. The road ahead includes ongoing treatments, doctor visits, lab tests, and medications that come with mounting medical bills.

It is incredibly difficult to watch her go through this. Joe and I are doing all we can to support her and her parents.

The insurance covers very little of the medical costs. Every contribution—no matter the size—will help ease the burden and allow her family to focus on her healing and comfort.
