Support Allie's End-of-Life Wishes & Cremation Costs
Donation protected
As many of you may know, my mama Allie Barkalow is getting ready to pass. Who knows when? After she has been dealing for the last 3 years with her heart being in A-Fib, along with level 3 kidney failure, and most recently with COVID, we are looking at the fact that she could pass anytime and we have no means to cover end-of-life expenses whenever they may arise. Ma says that her heart now feels “beat up” and, “doesn’t want to do the extra work anymore.”
She has decided to live life to the fullest! She has been going through her storage unit and all the memories within. She is also enjoying spending what time is available with her family and friends in the meantime.
We created this GoFundMe because as a family, we do not have the funds to be able to take care of her final remains and belongings. We had hoped to get Allie's ashes taken care of via medical donation to learn more in the name of science, for so many reasons. However, that is not a viable option for her, unfortunately. This is why we are now asking for donations to help take care of the end-of-life expenses, including packing up her home and storage unit.
Allie would prefer that she is cremated with the least amount of fuss possible. Allie has asked that all friends who may want to offer flowers after she has passed, instead make donations to favorite charities. I know she is partial to the SEVA Foundation, to name one.
I have said since her battle with cancer she won when she was in her 40s, along with everything else she has been dealt in life, that she (and her vehicle) is the living example of the power of her prayer and devotion. As some of you know, her final wishes, along with Alice Bell’s, are to have their ashes placed in the Ganges River, preferably with the Guru Nath’s blessing. My ma’s mother, also named Alice (I can’t make this up), would like me to transport her ashes to the Ganges as well. I literally have 3 Alices' worth of ashes to go into this beautiful karma-releasing river. I look forward to that adventure sometime in the future.
Any and all help on top of the $2500 for the minimum funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated. There is a fair amount to move and I, as her executor, also work full-time with, I think, 1 week worth of bereavement time available at work. I believe we will have friends and family to help when the time comes to pack up. I know it’s expensive to cover storage costs while we pack, and we may possibly need to rent a truck if needed. All of which is why we ask for help after the initial cost of the cremation.
Many thanks for all of your continued love and support of my beautiful, incredible mama! I know she has willed all kinds of very special gifts all picked out special for her besties. Keep in touch with me, Tara, and I will get the items to you after she has passed. You are all greatly appreciated. ❤️✨
