Capital High School's Head Swim Coach, Allie Kilroy, suffered an unexpected seizure on 10/1/2023. Swim team parents reached out to Allie's parents about starting a Go Fund Me to help Allie with her recovery. Allie's parents have graciously written the following description:
As you may have heard, Coach Allie had a sudden & unexpected seizure Saturday, Oct 1st. In addition to the seizure, she is healing from a concussion that she suffered when she fell. The next few weeks will require her to rest and reduce all stimuli, meaning she is unable to work.
Allie works three jobs, two of which are commission only. Even while in the ER, she was concerned about whether her health insurance was finally activated since she just started a new job, how she was going to pay for the ambulance/medical bills, rent for the month, groceries, potential rehab etc. We reassured her it would all work out, but didn't (at the time) realize how long before she would be cleared to work again. For now, she is staying with us, her parents, and not allowed to drive as directed by her doctors.
When the swim teacm parents contacted me as to what the team could do for Allie, we were (brutally) honest saying she could really use practical items (such as groceries) instead of flowers or gifts.
We have been so touched by the outpouring of prayers, love, and care from the Capitol Swim Team Family Allie is involved with. It has meant the world to her, with lots of tears , and for us, her family, it has been a blessing to know she is a part of such a wonderful group of kids and community.
Allie is a strong individual, filled with faith and motivation. With rest and support she will be back to her team enjoying what she loves.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Pat & Monique Kilroy
