Hello friends and family, it is with a deep heart that we approach you all with a request.

On May 16, 2025, Allessandra Pegues was admitted to the University of Washington Medical Center for heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy. Soon thereafter, Allessandra was listed on the transplant list for a new heart. On June 13, 2025, our family was notified that a heart was available and that she would be going in for surgery. Thankfully, the surgery was successful and Allessandra is currently in the process of healing.

While we are so glad that she has received the heart and is in recovery, the journey ahead is long. She will need to reside in Seattle for at least 90 days for required continuous care. This medical care includes follow up doctor appointments and test labs until she is granted permission to return back to Alaska. While she is in Seattle, she will need to pay for her own medical bills and housing (average is about $12,000 for 90 days). She will need to see doctors at least twice a week. Her doctor has informed her that she cannot drive for 3 months post-operation, so her parents Elesiva and Kenneth Pegues will be in Seattle as her caregivers.

We have exhausted all resources both within our family and in the community. Our goal is to raise anything between $8,000 - $10,000 to help with these costs. Anything you can donate is appreciated!
