Support Allen Locklear's Medical Journey

Donation protected
Hi,

My name is Dee Bradshaw and I am fundraising for my dear Cousin, Allen Locklear. We were born into this world two months apart and he holds a very special place in my heart.

Allen needs our help to raise funds for his continued medical treatment. He will be faced with another annual insurance deductible going into 2025, along with his current medical and travel expenses to and from treatments over the next twelve months.

I hope that you will donate to help take one worry off this dear man's shoulders. I also hope that you will SHARE this post with your family and friends so that others may hear his story and may donate and share along the way.

Thank you all in advance for your donation, sharing, support and/or Prayers!

Read on below to hear more about Allen's journey.

Allen was first diagnosed in April 2022 with stage 4 Follicular Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Allen received 6 months of intense Chemotherapy to rid of this horrible disease. After Chemotherapy, Allen attended monthly doctor appointments to monitor his wellness. Allen’s health seemed to improve and eventually received the good news of being in remission. Unfortunately, 7 months into remission, Allen located a knot under his left jaw. A doctor’s appointment was scheduled to investigate to see what the knot was. Unfortunately, the Lymphoma left his lymph nodes and began to attack other regions of his body. Allen was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma.

In May of 2023, Allen was referred to Duke Hospital to receive the best care. At this point, chemotherapy was not an option due to the aggressiveness of the cancer. Allen met with Dukes Oncologist and learned he was a candidate to receive Car-T Cell therapy (Chimeric Antigen Receptor). Allen would begin another difficult journey. Allen received Car-T Cell therapy in August of 2023 and would live in a hotel for 45 days so he could be evaluated daily at Duke hospital. After the 45 days and being evaluated daily, Allen was released to go home. Allen traveled to Duke weekly for lab work and would consult with his Doctor regarding his progress. Allen’s Doctor was very enthusiastic about his progress. Allen began to live life again and really felt his healing was on the horizon. Here we go with another unfortunately, but unfortunately, Allen located a small knot on the left side of his head. Allen scheduled an appointment with his Oncologist. Between his appointment and having a Pet-Scan, the knot grew into a large lesion.

Further test revealed cancer! Allen and his wife, Alison, along with his Doctor were completely shocked, thinking this new wonder drug, Car-T would have killed the cancer. In February, 2024, Allen was directed to one of Dukes’ Oncologist Radiologists for radiation to the lesion. Allen was given 22 rounds of radiation to the area of the lesion and it appeared the area was shrinking from the radiation. Within two weeks after radiation, the lesion decided to come back and began to grow very quickly. After several biopsies, MRI, and Pet-Scans, and Doctor’s scratching their heads, Cancer, again! Fast forward to June 2024, Allen’s Doctor suggested a new immunotherapy to be administered. The immunotherapy will be administered monthly for one year. This will have Allen and his wife, Alison traveling to Duke for lab work along with the monthly immunotherapy. Allen will begin immunotherapy August 5th and will conclude August 5th 2025.

The cost of traveling and medical expenses is overwhelming. No body should have to worry about their health along with medical expenses. Allen had just begun enjoying his retirement when he was diagnosed with cancer. Allen retired from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol as a State Trooper and is currently a Pastor in Providence, North Carolina. Allen continues to serve his church while on this journey. Allen’s faith in Jesus Christ has given him overwhelming peace and strength to endure all that is ahead of him.

If you find it in your heart to give, any amount will help to go toward travel and medical expenses. Please keep Allen and his family in your prayers! Thank you!
