My name is Allanah “Lotus” Stanton, and I am honored to be a contestant in the Miss Phi Beta Sigma Scholarship Pageant. This opportunity means so much to me, not only as a chance to grow personally and academically, but also as a platform to expand my mission: When the Body Becomes a Garden. Through this initiative, I am dedicated to supporting youth mental wellbeing and working to reduce youth suicide rates by providing creative outlets, grounding practices, and community-centered resources for young people.
To participate in the pageant, I need to raise funds to cover a variety of expenses. The contestant fee includes a pageant coach, promotional materials, venue arrangements, contestant gift baggie, trophies, crowns, and opening number attire. Any money raised beyond that will help with opening number shoes, a swimsuit and shoes, evening gown and accessories, talent attire, hair, makeup and makeup artist, nails, and a business suit with shoes and accessories. These expenses are essential for me to participate fully and present my best self at the pageant, allowing me to represent my platform and community with pride.
To every individual and organization who has chosen to support and donate to my Miss Phi Beta Sigma journey, thank you. Your belief in me is not simply a contribution; it is an investment in life, care, and prevention. Because of your generosity, my platform, When the Body Becomes a Garden, is able to expand its mission to directly address youth mental wellbeing and work toward reducing youth suicide rates. Your support allows this platform to transform education into access, access to creative outlets, grounding practices, and community-centered resources that offer young people alternatives to silence, isolation, and despair. Each donation helps bring my work to life: supporting arts-based wellness programming, land-based practices that foster regulation and connection, and intentional conversations around mental health, particularly for youth in communities where care is often limited or stigmatized. Your support does not stop at the pageant stage; it reaches into classrooms, community spaces, and futures that are still being written. I carry your generosity with deep gratitude and an even deeper sense of responsibility. Thank you for standing with me as I work to cultivate healing, reduce harm, and help young people see that their lives, and their futures, are worth tending to. With appreciation, Allanah “Lotus” Stanton Miss Phi Beta Sigma Contestant #1
