We have started this fundraiser because we need money to pay medical bills. Alix was diagnosed with cancer on December 9th, and cancer treatment is very expensive.

Also, our insurance coverage has changed, though our income has not. Apparently these changes took effect some time in November without any notice. So we already have 3 bills from medical visits which we can't pay and there are the bills from a scan and a biopsy for Alix yet to come. Then a surgery consult, then surgery, then radiation and maybe chemotherapy for her. We have no idea what kind of bills we are looking at.

Our combined income is $1,945 a month. Alix gets $980 from disability, Casey gets $965 from Social Security. Casey has been working but his job was eliminated on July 31st, through no fault of his own, and he hasn't been able to get a job since. But he is still looking.

We don't get food stamps. We have a mortgage, car payment and normal utility bills, and we are already struggling with those. We can't wait on Alix's cancer treatment. So, we are asking for help. If you can help, with anything at all, please consider giving or sharing this fundraiser.
