On Monday, July 14th, 2025, my sister, Alixandria, was admitted into the ICU. After weeks of being extremely sick, she was finally talked into going and getting checked out. After doing a bone marrow biopsy and waiting 2 days for the results, they found that she has leukemia. After discussing some options, they decided it was best to transfer her to another hospital to start treatment. She was sent to Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, where they have started her treatment and hope to bring her home. After 2 days of being down there, they diagnosed her with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. Friday evening, she started chemotherapy. She will be in the hospital for a month, followed by another 6 months of driving back and forth to finish out her fight. The doctor said there’s an 80% chance she will make a full recovery. That alone definitely made us feel a little better. Unfortunately, though, her fight has only just begun. She has a long road to recovery as she has just started her treatment. Along with starting all these medications comes a whole lot of what-ifs and so many unknowns. She has a great doctor and medical team taking care of her. They are doing everything to bring her out of this and help her overcome this battle that has been placed in her lap.

While she is admitted into the hospital getting treatment, our nana and I have been taking care of her 2 babies she has at home. We are asking for a little help with gas to drive back and forth to be down there with her. While her husband takes off work to be down there with her, we’ll need a little help with getting stuff for the babies, so he can stay down there with my sister. Also, help with food for them while they are staying down there with her. Any and all help is appreciated, even if it's the smallest amount. We are praying she has the strength to overcome this and come home to us and her babies.
