Hi! My name is Alissa Baugh. I’m 24 and engaged to the most amazing human ever! I’m an emergency critical care veterinary technician and a professional dog trainer!

For many years, I’ve struggled with treatment-resistant depression that doesn’t significantly respond to medication, extensive and multiple types of talk therapy, or various other treatment methods. It worsened severely after the death of my sister due to suicide in 2017.

I am very lucky to have the opportunity to try out a new protocol called TMS and ketamine therapy. TMS is performed daily for 9 weeks in a doctor's office, and the ketamine therapy is IV and twice a week in a doctor's office.

However, it is expensive treatment. And while I do have insurance, it does not cover all of the treatment, which is a treatment highly recommended to me for a greater chance of healing.

TMS stands for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, basically by using a magnetic coil placed on the scalp to send targeted magnetic pulses into the brain, stimulating nerve cells in mood-regulating areas like the prefrontal cortex, which helps "wake up" underactive circuits, release neurotransmitters (like dopamine), and improve mood, offering relief for treatment-resistant depression and other conditions without surgery.

Paired with the intravenous use of ketamine therapy, research has shown that ketamine has antidepressive properties, and ketamine infusion therapy has been incorporated into the treatment and management of psychiatric disorders (e.g., major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety) and chronic pain through a unique mechanism that primarily involves the glutamate system and rapidly promotes neuroplasticity, essentially helping to "rewire" the brain and form new neural connections.

Anything would truly help alleviate costs for us and make the treatment continue to be accessible for me to finish the entire protocol. Thank you so much.
