Dear friends and family,

We are reaching out on behalf of our mom, Alison Smiley, a vibrant and loving 69-year-old mother and grandmother whose world was turned upside down by a devastating series of medical events. Until December of 2023, our mom was living independently and enjoying her retirement years. But that all changed suddenly. While visiting family for the holidays, she suffered an aortic aneurysm rupture that would change everything for her. While in surgery to save her life, she suffered two spinal strokes which have now left her unable to walk independently. She is now confined to a wheelchair and having to live in personal care facility.

If you know our mom, then you know she is a fighter! Even with continued medical setbacks, she continues to work hard every day to adjust to her new reality, showing courage and resilience in the face of overwhelming challenges.

Unfortunately, the cost of long-term care, medical treatments, medications, and daily necessities has depleted our mom’s savings that she worked her entire life for.

We are graciously asking for any assistance that would help cover the cost of her personal care facility and maintain basic necessities.

We are hoping to raise enough to help cover my mom’s care for the next year while we explore other solutions. Any amount—no matter how small—will make a meaningful difference in her life. Your support will help give her the dignity, safety, and stability she deserves during this time.
