Support Alisha White's Medical Journey

My name is Brittany and I am starting a GoFundMe for my best friend, Alisha White, of 25+ years now, as she has fallen on some hard times currently after a mystery illness caused her to be hospitalized and bedridden for the past few weeks. After attending a concert with me, she randomly started to feel ill; her throat was sore and her legs hurt severely. While at the Urgent Care, they tested her for everything and it all came back negative. She was told that whatever was ailing her MUST be viral.

Two days later, she ended up at the ER in extreme pain. She could hardly breathe nor could she lift her arms and legs. The hospital then performed an X-ray and said she had pneumonia. She was given four different medications and sent home, as they "did not know exactly what was wrong with her." She was then rushed back to the hospital the very next day as she could not breathe again or move her extremities. Again, they couldn't figure out what was wrong with her and sent her home yet again.

After being convinced by numerous family members, she went to a different hospital for a second opinion. That's where the real work began, thankfully! They found fluid around her lungs and heart, a pulmonary embolism in her lungs, an extremely enlarged spleen, and she was also having tachycardia. Alisha was admitted into the hospital's ICU, where she was also diagnosed with influenza B, mycoplasma pneumonia, anemia, and severely low potassium levels. After a few days, she was well enough to go home but came back due to having extremely swollen joints and extreme pain. Her primary doctor started to believe something more serious was going on within her body and decided she wanted to do a complete workup just to cover all bases, as she was now suspecting Alisha may have an autoimmune disorder or disease.

The following day, she was informed that she has lesions on her kidneys, which could be caused by now suspected rheumatoid arthritis that is also causing the swelling and pain in her joints. Currently, she is waiting to set appointments with all the different specialists, rheumatologist, and hematologist, just to name a couple. She has a renal ultrasound scheduled for later this month to confirm some other things going on with her as well.

With all this going on, she has not been able to go to work to support her children and grandson as a single mother. She has recently been approved for short-term disability, but that will take time to actually start coming in.

Not asking for a million dollars or anything, just support and any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much and God Bless.
