Hi everyone !

We’re Alisha and Meg , and we’re both third year student Children Nurses. This summer, we’ve been given an incredible opportunity to take part in an overseas nursing elective in Tanzania with work the world. We will be volunteering in the local hospital working across a variety of paediatric departments such as general children’s wards, neonatal intensive care units (NICU) and paediatric intensive care (PICU). We’ll be caring for children with a wide range of health conditions, learning from local healthcare professionals, and offering support wherever it’s needed most.

This experience will not only help us grow as future nurses, but more importantly, it gives us the chance to support healthcare services in a part of the world where resources are limited and every helping hand makes a real difference.

As part of our trip, we are also raising funds to purchase essential supplies for the hospital we will be working in. From basic medical equipment to children’s health essentials to improve care for young patients in Tanzania.
