Help Alisa Bridge the Gap After Job & SNAP Loss
Hi everyone, my name is Lisa (Lisas0205) and myself and our close group of friends who are Whatnot sellers that love and want to support our friend, Alisa Balser (@misbeehavenwithalisa on Whatnot), are writing to request donations to help. Alisa is a single mother to her amazing daughter, Evan. They are currently facing an incredibly challenging time, and we are humbly reaching out to ask for help to get them through a very critical transition period.

In August, Alisa lost her job as a Client Manager, a position she held for 7 years. This was an unexpected blow, and the timing couldn't have been worse. Due to this sudden loss of income, they lost their health insurance benefits too. Alisa and her family face immediate budgetary crisis, with potential medical debt, and long-term health consequences if not addressed promptly. In addition to this, they suddenly lost their SNAP food benefits due to the second longest government shutdown in U.S. history. That means an empty fridge, skipping meals, and quietly going without food and potentially losing shelter and transportation. Unfortunately, Alisa and her family are left with no safety net for necessities.

Alisa is determined to get back on her feet and provide for her family, but the process of securing a new job can take time, and they have immediate needs that can't wait. The stress of not knowing how to cover their next meal or keep their transportation and a roof over their heads has been overwhelming to Alisa. Therefore, we are seeking emergency funds to help cover essential living expenses for Alisa and Evan while Alisa works to regain stability.

We are asking for monetary donations through GoFundMe and 100% of your donations will go to Alisa and her daughter. Your support will help bridge this temporary gap and provide them with the breathing room they need to recover from this setback. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference to Alisa and her family.

Here is how your support will make a difference:
• Groceries: Ensuring they have enough food on the table after the loss of their SNAP benefits.
• Rent & Utilities: Covering rent to avoid eviction and keep the lights on.
• Transportation: Covering gas, car payment, and potential minor car repairs so she can get to interviews.
• Medical needs: Both Alisa and her daughter have pre-existing medical needs with no ability to pay for care and medications due to being uninsured.
• Basic Needs: Helping with essential household items like toiletries and cleaning supplies.

If you are unable to donate at this time, please consider sharing their story with your network. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can say.

Thank you for reading and for any help you can provide.

With gratitude,
Alisa’s close group of friends within the Whatnot community and on behalf of Alisa & Evan
