Hi, my name is Muaz, and I’m fundraising for my cousin Ali, his wife, and their two young children.

Two weeks ago, my cousin took his family to Niagara Falls for a short trip. On the way there, they accidentally took a wrong exit and ended up at the U.S. border checkpoint. My cousin has lived in the United States for over 20 years, is married to a U.S. citizen, and is the father of two children born here. He has a valid work permit and an active green card application in process.

Instead of letting them turn around, border agents detained him on the spot, separated him from his wife and kids, and sent his family back home — but transferred him to a detention center in Louisiana, thousands of miles away. He now faces possible deportation, despite his deep roots here, active work permit, and ongoing green card process. We need money to help cover the lawyer legal fees as well as to help his wife and two kids to be able to pay for their living arrangements.
