On Saturday, while at the gas station where he worked for nearly 25 years, our dear friend, Ali - and the husband of our beloved nanny, “Tee-tee” - was viciously and senselessly attacked. He endured multiple injuries and severe trauma to his head and fought for his life in the hospital until he passed away on Monday evening surrounded by his loving family.
Ali was a hard working and kind-hearted man who became an extension to our family. He was also a familiar and friendly face to all those in the community who visited his neighborhood gas station and came to know and love him. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband of 18 years, who adored his wife and never missed a day picking her up from work and happily taking the opportunity to spend time with our kids when he did. One of my youngest son’s first words was “Ali,” because he enjoyed nothing more than jumping for joy at Ali’s arrival to our house each night and running outside to say hello.
The void he will leave in his community and family cannot be put into words. Please help us raise money to support Ali’s family with medical, funeral and living expenses during this incredibly difficult, unexpected, and heartbreaking time. Thank you.
