A list of other ways to help is at the end of this story
Hi, my name is Suebee Sheldon, and I have put together this fundraiser for my friends Ali (Wookie) and Kayla and their family. For simplicity purposes, the below story is focused on Ali and her perspective:

Hello Friends, we are seeking your support for Ali LaValle (Wookie) and her family. As you may have heard, two separate hurricanes have wreaked havoc - to put it lightly! - across the Southeastern United States. Ali typically lives in San Antonio, Florida with her family; however, she loved and used to live in Asheville, NC and has many loved ones there. From Florida, she, like the rest of us, watched as entire communities were ravaged and washed away. Meanwhile, Hurricane Milton was forming and aiming for Florida. When Milton was forecasted to "only" be a category 2 hurricane, she made the decision to go to Asheville to help with the recovery efforts there. Ali is intending on heading back there as soon as she can as she said that there are people and communities yet to be found because the damage is that extensive. While Ali was in Asheville, Hurricane Milton quickly and unexpectedly developed into a Category 5 hurricane. While Ali's family home was not in an evacuation zone, many tornadoes formed across Florida ahead of Milton - and one struck their home, and trees demolished a good portion of their house.

Ali and her family are so grateful that none of their family members were harmed when this happened! However, several extensive recovery situations have presented themselves including some repairs, living expenses and members of the household are beginning to have some health issues that at best guess are due to mold and toxins in the air. , Ali's 12-year-old nephew's room was completely demolished - happily, he was not in his room at the time that the tree fell, but everything in it was completely destroyed - first by tree impact and then by "buckets upon buckets of water pouring in."

Funds will cover: Living and recovery expenses as: "everything is soaking wet and covered in insulation and destroyed building materials." and restoring her nephew's clothing, school, and sports items. Furthermore, this is an evolving situation and needs may arrise that we do not know of yet, and we ask that when you donate, you trust Ali and her family to use the funds wisely and with gratefulness and love.

**In addition, Ali is hoping that there will be extra funds that she and her family can use to help their neighbors and community around them to recover and rebuild.

No amount is too small - every little bit helps!

For folks that wish to seek another way to donate, Ali's address is:
Alexandra LaValle
11520 Wichers Rd
San Antonio, FL 33576

Make checks payable to: Alexandra LaValle or Virginia LaValle

Also, you may send funds to:
Cashapp: $LavaXandra
Venmo: @Kayla-Hunter-25
Paypal: @KHunter714

To support 12-year-old Bradley, you can send gift cards to Dick's Sporting Goods or to Amazon to replace his school equipment, sports equipment (he runs track and plays football with his school), and clothing as all of his clothing was destroyed. If this calls to you, you can either send gift cards to the address above, or e-cards to this email: [email redacted]

Finally: Chainsaws are a great need right now, and a scarce find in Florida at this time. Between Asheville and Florida, both of Ali's chainsaws went kaput - and Ali needs these for her work when life is more normal. If you feel so moved: send a Stihl chainsaw to the address above!

Ali and her family greatly thank you for reading and sharing their story and any help that you feel moved to send their way!
