Support Alina and Leah in Their Time of Need

Hello everyone. My name is Alina. My daughter, Leah, and I live in Rancho Cucamonga, California, and we really need help.

A little background. My husband and I moved to America two years ago with $300 and started building our lives from scratch. We had a daughter. We worked, made plans for the future, raised our daughter with love, and were truly happy. But six months ago, a terrible situation befell our family: my husband was arrested by ICE officers at immigration court without explanation. I was separated from my husband, and my daughter from her father. My husband has been in detention for almost six months. I was left alone with a small child, and we gave all our savings to my husband's immigration lawyer. I couldn't work anymore, and it took me almost three months to get my daughter into kindergarten. My daughter and I lost our home because I couldn't pay the rent. We moved in with friends, but soon their leasing office told my daughter and I to move out. The only thing I could do was rent a room on Airbnb for $1,400. After we moved, my car was towed because it belongs to my husband, and he's in detention. It took me almost a month to get it back. I was again unable to work (I work for Uber), and I went into debt just to buy groceries, diapers, and everything else I needed for a month. Now I've gone back to work, but unfortunately, I'm only making a small amount of money because my daughter was only approved for daycare for 29 hours a week. I don't know what to do. I need to pay rent in a week, but I don't have the money because I've been without a car for almost a month, which has made the situation much worse. I'm afraid I'll be left homeless with my little daughter, with nowhere to go. And most importantly, I need to hire an immigration lawyer for myself and issue a power of attorney for my daughter. My immigration court hearing is on December 31st, and I desperately need legal protection. These are very difficult times for immigrants, and anything can happen in court. I'm afraid for myself, but most of all, I'm afraid for my daughter.

I started this fundraiser and wrote my entire story honestly because I believe in goodness, and I believe that there are people who, after reading this, will not remain indifferent to my plight. Thank you to everyone who will contribute and help me and my daughter.
