My name is Alie, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. Two years ago, my soul dog Milo was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. He was the love of my life and my emotional support. We fought for a year and three months, doing everything possible to save him. On September 4th, he passed away, and it shattered me. I’ve been grieving and depressed, and I spent everything I had on his care. I’m still paying off Milo’s medical bills. About two and a half months ago, I started having constant, severe pain in my hand. I was just diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. My hand hurts all the time, and I can’t move it much without risking more damage. This has made it extremely hard to work and support myself. I don’t have health insurance, which makes everything even harder. The first doctor I saw told me I needed surgery. Because I can’t afford that and I’m scared of what it means, I went for a second opinion. I’m trying everything I can to avoid surgery: therapy, injections, holistic treatments, acupuncture, massage—anything that might help heal my hand and reduce the pain. If surgery ends up being the only option, it’s estimated to cost around 7K, and that doesn’t include my basic living expenses while I recover and still can’t use my hand fully. I live alone and still need to cover rent, bills, food, and transportation while I can’t work.
Right now:
• I’m in constant hand pain and have limited movement.
 • I’ve been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome.
 • One doctor says I need surgery; I’m seeking other opinions to try to avoid it.
 • I have no insurance and can’t afford my medical care.
• Surgery alone is around 7K, not including rent, bills, and daily expenses.
 • I’m still paying off Milo’s medical bills. I am asking for help because I truly don’t know how to do this alone.
