Support Alicia's Journey to Full Recovery

Donation protected

On May 8th, my world came crashing down around me. I took my girlfriend, Alicia, to the ER for chest pain, back pain, and shortness of breath. After waiting in the waiting room for 7 hours, she screamed in pain and passed out in my arms. Alicia was rushed back where they did a CT scan and found a massive blood clot in her lungs. The ER doctors started her on very strong medication to help, but it was too late. Alicia went into cardiac arrest. The ER staff had to perform CPR on her for 10 minutes to get her pulse back. They then stabilized her as best they could and flew her to Penn Presbyterian in Philly. Alicia was quickly put on an ECMO pump to bypass her heart and lungs. Alicia spent almost 5 days on the ECMO pump before the doctors at Penn felt she was strong enough to come off it. Her recovery has been steady, but she has a long way to go to be back to 100%. Alicia is currently still not home. She's in a local rehabilitation center and hoping to come home very soon.

Unfortunately being out for the rest of the school year now. She's will be without a paycheck for 3 months.

We're not ones to ask for much, but anything helps at this time and is definitely appreciated.
