Support Alicia's Fight Against Colon Cancer
Donation protected
To our family and friends:
I am reaching out on behalf of my sister, Alicia Donnelly-Sikora.
On June 1st we were completely devastated to find out that she had been diagnosed with advanced Stage 3 Colon cancer.
Within 48 hours of her diagnosis, an incredible team of surgeons successfully performed an emergency surgery that removed a major tumor and compromised areas in her lower abdomen.
The success of her surgery gave us lots of hope. Next she will be starting her chemo journey to terminate any additional cancer spread. There is plenty of hope and optimism but she is facing a long battle to defeat the cancer.
If you know my sister, she has devoted her life to doing more for others than she does for herself. She’s the recent founder of a non-profit advocating for educator retention, a former educator to kiddos nationally and worldwide, and a consistent advocate for marginalized communities that deserve an action-oriented voice. For the last 7 months, Alicia has been building her non-profit which cost her a lot of time, money, and resources which makes dealing with her current situation much more difficult financially.
To me, she is my badass older sister, my role model, and my right-hand woman. I also get to witness her as the absolute best auntie to my Jayden and Mia.
Overall, she’s a force to be reckoned with and we all know that cancer picked the wrong girl. Her and her husband Alex have a plan but could use your help.
It has been her and Alex’s strategic decision to stay in Walnut Creek, California. There they have access to an amazing (top 10 in CA) hospital with John Muir Health, a team of prestigious oncologists (that partner with UCSF – top 10 nationally for oncology), and a new state-of-the-art cancer treatment center where she’ll be receiving 6 months' worth of chemo treatments.
Your donation will go toward medical bills, treatments, therapies, and general life expenses to maintain access to the resources within these facilities, doctors, and programs.
(All within a 10-minute walk from her home)
Because Alicia won’t, I am asking for your help in alleviating a portion of the financial burden that comes with Alicia’s diagnosis and treatment during her time of healing. Whatever difference you can make in this period of her life, will be deeply appreciated.
Alicia had to be convinced to allow me to create this crowdfunding for her. Her only request is that it NOT be shared through social media platforms. She requested that it be shared through personal messaging (ie. text the link or share through email) to only those who know(n) her in some relative capacity. Through all her travels she has built relationships that extend borders so I know we can personally reach those who love and care for her. You all mean so much to her and I cannot express my gratitude for your help with this.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and wanting to be there for Alicia and Alex during this challenging time. I quote her when she said, “I’ll be ringing that fucking bell by January 2025!”
Love always,
