Hi! My name is Alicia, and I'm currently asking for mutual aid to help out my family—my husband Andre, myself, and last but not least, our two cats, Kaline and Nala. (Kaline is the grey tabby, Nala is the dark grey!) We've had a lot of troubles lately with covering our monthly expenses for the past year and a half, due to my husband having chronic illnesses (fainting spells, heart palpitations, suspected schizoaffective disorder) and me having to quit my job due to them not giving me the hours I consistently needed despite weeks of begging and working every shift available, eventually sending me into my own mental health crisis.

Now, finding a new job has been exceedingly difficult for me. I don't have a car, so I'm limited by the bus and my immediate area, which makes finding a job that meets my needs difficult. We don't have the means to relocate, and our abusive/absent families don't give us support or a backup plan if things go wrong. I don't want to displace our cats, and I don't know how long my husband and I could survive the worst-case scenario. I'm still hunting for jobs right now as I type this, but my husband's part-time gig can't support us alone. This isn't a job he can give up, given how accommodating it is for his health problems where no other job in our area has (again, we don't have a car), so we're hoping that we can make a cushion fund to cover our expenses, at least until I can start college. Hopefully, I can find a stable job that will accommodate my own needs, as well as give the hours or pay needed to cover bills! I'm still trying, but it's never been harder to find a job until now.
