My sweet best friend since 7th grade was recently diagnosed with Chromophobe Renal Cell Carcinoma and it is localized on her left kidney. This is a rare type of cancer and usually isn’t found in people under 40. She’s had it for 2 years however it was just noticed on a recent scan while she was dealing with other health problems. It’s grown 1/2cm in the last 2 years. Beyond just that she was diagnosed with endometriosis during a laparoscopy for 3 ovarian cysts. A CT scan for the cysts led to the discovery of the cancer. These issues have been occurring since December causing not only physical but mental challenges as well.

She needs to see a urologist to have the cancerous part of her kidney removed, but due to long waitlist, she has been referred to Mayo Clinic. Her insurance just denied her coverage to go, so she will be paying out of pocket while we fight the insurance company. She plans to go to Mayo on May 7th. With this expense and all the others leading up to it, she needs help.
