We are rallying together to support our dear friends Alicia and Justin, along with their children Tori, Kevin, and their newborn baby girl, Romi Jo, during an incredibly challenging and unexpected chapter of their lives. Alicia has endured a very difficult pregnancy, including having her gallbladder removed at 30 weeks pregnant. She has spent weeks in and out of the hospital, facing complications that ultimately led to the heartbreaking reality that she must deliver her baby girl early, at just 32.5 weeks. During this time, Alicia has missed precious milestones, including her own baby shower, while focusing entirely on doing everything she can to keep herself and her baby safe. After delivery, their sweet baby girl will need to spend an estimated 4–6 weeks in the NICU before she can come home.

While learning how to care for a newborn in the NICU, Alicia received devastating news that cancer was found on both her liver and pancreas just two days after her baby girl’s arrival. Much of the responsibility will fall on Justin as he supports Alicia, balances hospital visits, and prepares for life with a newborn who needs extra care. Neither Alicia nor Justin would ever ask for help—but those who love them know how heavy this season is, emotionally and financially. As medical bills begin to roll in, our hope is to ease even a small portion of that burden so they can focus on what matters most: being present with their baby girl and supporting Alicia on this unexpected journey for a cure.
