Support Alice Barbour Barefoot's Heart Recovery

My name is Kathy. My mom, Alice Barbour Barefoot, 68 years young, had Triple Heart Bypass Surgery on October 25, 2024, at Wake Medical Heart Center in Raleigh, NC.

Since the surgery, it has been hard. They found she has undiagnosed COPD. This has caused an EXTREMELY difficult role in her recovery from heart bypass surgery.

She is currently in a drug-induced coma to help her lungs recover. She has an infection in her lungs (Flu type H and Strep).

Our family lost my dad in April 2019 from flu and heart attack. We lost my younger sister on December 11, 2021, from sepsis from a recalled room spray.

I am the only living child now, along with my son and my daughter, and 3 grandchildren.

My mom is also employed by Food Lion at McGee's Crossroads store on HWY 210.

She is a great-grandmother to awesome children that LOVE her more than anything on earth. Mom is a retired lunch lady, a job she loved and misses.

Our family needs to be able to stay near her at the Wake Heart Inn and cover expenses, including lost wages. She will be out of work for 8 to 10 weeks for recovery. We are blessed to have Alice in our life and we love her deeply.
