Alice Simmons Pierce Needs Us Now

Last night, our rescue community received heartbreaking news. Alice lost her home in a devastating fire. The house is a total loss.

In true Alice fashion, her first thought was not for herself. She repeatedly tried to go back inside to save her cats, but the fire was simply too intense. Alice suffered burns to approximately 15% of her body, including her hand, right arm, and hip. She is being transferred to a burn center today for specialized treatment.

For years, Alice has been a familiar name throughout Wilson and surrounding counties. She has dedicated countless hours to TNR, rescuing homeless cats and kittens, and helping animals that so many others overlooked. She has spent years helping others and saving lives without ever asking for anything in return.

Today, Alice is the one who needs help.

As she begins the long road to recovery, we are asking our community to come together and support Alice, her rescue, Purrfect Hearts Rescue, and the cats that remain in her care.
