Hello,

I am once again reaching out to raise funds for Aliah (17). As some of you may know, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma years ago. She has since beaten her cancer; however, she needed to have her arm amputated up to the shoulder blade. The first rounds of chemo were very harsh on her kidneys, and her body is paying for it. She is on multiple medications to help. We recently found out that she will need to start dialysis. Her doctors at the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital are requesting that she stay in Minneapolis until they can set up or find a closer area for her to complete her 4-hour dialysis treatments three days a week. They are unsure of a time frame with that but did mention that it will take a while before they can set up a closer dialysis destination. With this comes a lot of transportation for the family.

On top of this, Aliah will not be able to attend school in person. She is in her junior year of school and recently started attending back in person. She is going to miss out on her class trip to South Dakota, and she is extremely heartbroken about that. She was thriving mentally after being back in person and is going to be extremely heartbroken and back to square one now that she has to go to Minneapolis.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to help with transportation needs, bills, and any other expenses that occur during the duration as we will not know how long she has to be in Minneapolis. Her doctors mentioned she will need dialysis until she can receive a kidney transplant (May 2026), which is a whole year away.
