Hi All,
We hope this message finds you well. Today, we come together to support a cherished member of our community, Ali Imran, who has been a resident since December 2016. Many of you may know him not just as a CO-OP taxi driver but also for the delicious biryanis he skillfully prepared during weekends, adding flavor to our lives.
Last month, Ali and his wife, Fathima, celebrated being awarded permanent residency – a testament to their dedication and hard work. However, life took an unexpected turn last week when Ali suffered a severe accident, resulting in a broken ankle. Rushed to the hospital, he underwent surgery the following day, where a steel rod was introduced to aid in his recovery. The doctor's orders mandate complete bed rest for the next six weeks, rendering Ali unable to work.
As the sole breadwinner for his family, Ali's accident has halted their earnings entirely. Fathima, unable to work due to personal reasons, further compounds their financial challenges.
Considering the current health situation and the mounting stress, Ali and Fathima had contemplated returning to India for specialized treatment from familiar doctors in Ali's hometown. Unfortunately, their plans have been delayed due to financial constraints and Ali's current bedridden condition.
In response to their pressing needs, the Regina Malayalee Association is initiating a GoFundMe campaign. We kindly request you to consider contributing a small amount to assist this family in navigating the upcoming months and, if needed, pursuing necessary treatments back in their home country.
Your support will not only provide financial relief but also show Ali that our community stands strong together in times of need. Let's rally behind Ali Imran as he embarks on his healing journey.
