Support Ali and Winnie in Their Time of Need
Donation protected

Hi everyone. My name is Tim. I’m setting up this GoFundMe for my friend, Ali, and her dog, Winnie. Winnie was hit by a car late last night/early this morning. We rushed her to the emergency clinic, and they were able to stabilize her by 4 a.m., but she still has a ways to go.
The first 24 hours have already cost over $4,200, and Winnie still needs at least another 24 and possibly 48 hours at the emergency clinic, which was last estimated to be another $3,500-$5,800. Ali and her family have already dug deep into their pockets, and the additional day is something that is currently out of reach.
Winnie has quite literally saved Ali’s life by helping her through some tough times. This sweet angel of a dog has been Ali’s best friend for a year and a half and has touched the hearts of many of Ali’s neighbors at our apartment complex.
Please help us save Winnie’s life. Anything received above the cost of Winnie’s medical expenses will be donated to a rescue or some other pet-related charity.
Update for the end of the day on Thursday along with some details:
First, I want to give a shout out to the Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Oakdale, MN. They have been giving Winnie amazing care for nearly 23 hours now. Their staff is caring and compassionate. They let Ali hang out next to Winnie’s oxygen kennel for hours today.
Winnie has improved a bit. She was able to walk outside to go potty a couple of times and was doing her best to convince everyone to let her out of the kennel and go home.
When Winnie was admitted, she was struggling to breath due to a pneumothorax. There was concern that one of her lungs might have been punctured and leaking air into her chest cavity. They had to let air out right after she was brought in and again later in the morning but have not yet had to do it a third time. Winnie’s breathing is still labored but improved.
She thankfully didn’t have any broken bones but does have contusions to her lungs and maybe some other internal organs. She also has some scrapes and a laceration on the back of her head. She also appears to have a minor injury to one of her legs but is able to walk on it and stops limping after she’s stretched it for a bit.
Things are definitely looking up but she isn’t out of the woods yet and a big part of it is going to be the costs. If Ali can’t afford the care Winnie needs, she won’t be able to properly heal.
Please help with whatever you are able to.
Myself, Ali and her family thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support.
