Support Ali and Baby Boy's Health Journey

My stepmom Ali has recently been admitted to the hospital for the remainder of her pregnancy. She is due June 8th with my baby brother. This is her story: “As many of my close friends and family know, I've recently been admitted to the hospital for the remainder of my pregnancy, and I'm choosing to focus on the positive. Although I'm extremely upset about it, I know it's a blessing in disguise for me and the baby, as I was diagnosed with a severe case of preeclampsia at just 26 weeks and 3 days. We had quite the scare this week when the height of my blood pressure was between 188/117 and 170/110 and wasn’t dropping, but I'm staying optimistic. I typically run 117/79 for my average blood pressure, and I've never had any issues at all with it. I was rushed to Labor & Delivery triage, and with my husband Shane Wirta by my side, we were sat down for a conversation that turned out to be a transformative experience. We anticipated 4-5 days of me being monitored in the hospital with a release after and being on bed rest, but instead, I get to focus on my health and the baby's well-being for the remainder of my pregnancy. I ask you all to pray for me and baby boy to make it safely to 34 weeks when we will plan on delivering our precious little miracle who's been fighting so hard!! He's doing better than mommy, I swear. I'm finally stabilized with the right medicine, and my care team has been phenomenal!! I am so grateful for my nurses and doctors, and I've truly learned so much in the past 3 days. I'm trying my best to stay calm and know God has a path for us and that I needed to slow down.”

No parent or couple should ever have to experience this.

As many know, medical and hospital bills can add up. After this journey for Ali, the baby will have to be in the NICU for many weeks after.
